What Can You Throw In A Dumpster?

Just like your residential trash can, a rented container also has rules pertaining to what you can and cannot toss in.  Always discuss what type of debris or waste you are disposing of when you speak with us about a rental.  We want to ensure you understand what is allowed and what is not before you receive your container.

These are the items NOT allowed in containers:

  • No household trash or food

  • No tires or batteries

  • No chemicals or chemical containers

  • No pesticides or pesticides containers

  • No electronics such as TV, radio, VCR, DVD

  • No computers or monitors

  • No fluorescent tubes or ballast

**Remember: When throwing in appliances such as refrigerators or AC units, all hazardous fluids and components must be removed first.  Any item that could leak chemicals that are harmful to the environment are always prohibited from containers.

  • Don’t overflow!
  • Double check the dimensions if you have a tight space!  Keep in mind the swinging door on the back.  And be mindful of small driveways or alleys.  If there are any special requests for delivery, be sure to let us know at time of rental.  When we arrive for pick up, make sure the pick-up truck can easily access the site.
  • Having the biggest container may not always be the most economic.  Let us help you choose the appropriate size for your job without breaking the bank.
  • Don’t forget, we can give market prices on metals and recyclables!  You may be able to save some money by sending some of the debris to one of our recycling centers.
  • If you have hazardous or unacceptable items, talk with your local disposal site to learn how you can properly dispose of them.
